Proshkin Even as a student in college, the young artist showed great interest in landscape. The majority of his free time was given to the study of nature and no opportunity to work in the open air was wasted. With each day, the landscape genre became the major subject of attention for the young student. WIthin the walls of the college, he became acquainted with art's prominent masters of landscape such as Claude Monet, Pissaro, Sisley, Marke and many artists form the Russian school, namely Shishkin, Savrosov, Vassilev, Levitan and others. Their productions proved to have great influence on the young artist. The elevatedtradition of Russian masters became fundamental to him and in it's own way a sort of guidebook through the labyrinth of his agonizing creative search. The distinctive characteristics of the Russian school of landscape always lies in its simplicity and modest motifs, the lack of outward effects, and the ability to notice, in what appears to be matter-of-fact and ordinary, inner richness, beauty, poetry, and a special soulful warmth. All of these qualities, without a doubt, were great achievements and throughout generations young artists have tried to carefully preserve these traits in their work. As he would not abandon the experience and traditions of his forefathers, the creative energy of the artist is used to liberate itself in search of original ideas and expressive forms, which through the course of time become the measures by which artistic works receive merit. Many masters of landscape painting create their works of art sitting in a studio with only thoughts of nature and her beauty. not so - "My studio IS nature" says Proshkin, "nature is always new." Indeed, the subjects of his work are always noticed and painted on location. In the process of working with nature, the artist strives to creatively study and get to know her. "I feel one of my most important tasks in painting landscapes is to express and bring about the true reflection of the mood of the moment, to perceive and carry to the viewers the thrilling melody in the never-ending manifestation of nature." Landscape is the entrance into the life of nature and the world surrounding our reality. ![]() ![]() ![]()
